These are worth having checked before the coldest part of the season arrives.
Many East Grand Rapids homes were built well before today’s heating standards, and additions or renovations over the decades have sometimes left ductwork unbalanced for the home’s current layout. That imbalance often shows up as certain rooms never quite reaching a comfortable temperature.
Homes closer to Reeds Lake also deal with a bit more humidity than properties further inland, which can affect components inside an older furnace cabinet over time.

A homeowner named Gregory called us because the upstairs of his home near Reeds Lake never seemed to get as warm as the main floor. An addition built decades earlier had tapped into the existing ductwork without properly rebalancing the system. Our technician adjusted the dampers and airflow to bring the upstairs back into balance. Gregory said his family had been putting on extra layers upstairs for years without realizing there was a fix.
